Even bidding for a low traffic keyword phrase such as "affordable family health insurance" and getting top sponsored listings for less competitive pay per click keywords can bring you more traffic than being buried several pages down for a more competitive keyword phrase.
But if you go too far with this identification strategy, you could select a key phrase that is so uncompetitive that no searchers are using the term to search for. For example, "affordable cheap health insurance" is a less competitive pay per click keyword, but it is rarely entered into the search engines.
